Tableau. Tableau is definitely still a bit of a weakness for me, especially figuring out the filters. But one thing I really wanted to include in my thesis, which was on representation in TV, were data visualizations. Most of my sources for my thesis included some kind of statistic, and I had initially planned on doing some data viz in class to include in the project. I didn’t end up doing it because I just didn’t have the time or skills, so one of my goals to continue my project is to (maybe, possibly, kind of don’t want to go through this again) redesign the website, and turn it into a book with visualizations.
I would like to keep working with Tableau in a job setting, but I’m not sure how many jobs actively lean into data visualizations. It would be a really cool element in web-design and UI/UX, so I'd love to keep going with Tableau in a future job. Even incorporating data visuals in ways people wouldn’t expect, like a game or a magazine, would be such a col personal project.
I plan to keep going with data visualizations through my thesis, which I really want to be ongoing. Data visualizations would be a strong addition to a most written project. I’m also determined to make this pizza game on Figma and turn it into a portfolio project.
